I got a cast-off Copco crank-type salad spinner after years of trying to find a reasonably priced, non-cord type, spinner. To be honest, I would never pay a huge price for this item (even if I hadn't received one for free). In my neighborhood (which has an amazing number of bargain places), the crank-type spinner goes for under $10.
