re: soap making

I have been making soap for about three years now and can tell you that Normas book was not very helpful! There is a great web sight called millersoap.com that is VERY helpful great recipes and detailed explinations of what to do when and trouble shooting. Also there is a good book by Melinda Coss called The Handmade Soap Book hope this helps!
