re: turkey in Showtime rotisserie

Misc.

I have cooked two turkeys in the Showtime, including the Thanksgiving turkey, and they turned out great! They did not have stuffing in them, but I did put some aromatics in the cavity (onions, apples, herbs). My 15 pound Thanksgiving turkey took a little over two hours. I took it out when the breast meat was 165 degrees and the thigh meat was a little over 170 degrees (it continues to cook a little when you take it out). A word of warning though: start checking the temperature of the meat long before you think it might be done. If I had taken it out when the Showtime manual had suggested, it would have cooked another 40 minutes! As it was, it was thoroughly cooked and was the juiciest turkey I've eaten in years.
