Recao is also culantro...

it is sometimes sold in 4 inch pots here in Florida as an alternative to celantro, because it stands up better to the heat. I tried growing it, but didn't have a lot of luck, maybe too much water. It tastes like celantro/cilantro as you noticed, only a little more pungent. When I purchased it, I did a search on the net and got quite a bit of info on it, and remember it was called recao in Puerto Rico. Try a search on Culantro, perhaps you can find a source for seeds.
