Some 60th Birthday Party Ideas

Hi Linda. Your party sounds like fun. I have a few suggestions.

Contact many of the birthday boy's friends, past co-workers, former students, etc. and let them know you are having this celebration. Ask each individual to write a letter sharing fond memories or funny experiences they had with the birthday boy. You can put these letters in a scrap book as a group gift to him.

Gather photographs of your husband from various parts of his life. Have the photos enlarged to poster size (at a copy center) and use the posters to decorate the house or hall where your party is being held. You can also make a game with these posters.. have the guests guess what age he was in the various pictures.

Also, some food ideas -- it could be fun making foods from the 1940s when he was born. It could also be fun if your guests (or some of them) will dress in clothing from the early 1940s.

You might also search for newspaper headlines for the day he was born.
