Wedding cakes - tons of info, including conversations...

Erin, please do a search on this board for wedding cakes. You'll find recipes, tips, and an extensive conversation from a few years back about how to handle various aspects of making a wedding cake. Read thru all that and see if you have specific questions when you are finished. Chances are, it will be enough of an education that you'll be ready for your first trial cake.
Also, Rose Levy Beranbaum's "Cake Bible" has a whole section on wedding cakes. You can probably find it in your local library, along with other resources.

Good luck!
