I've lots of Brit friends, and I'll find out but there are errors, see inside

Sara - I've a number of friends in the UK, and I'll ask them for you. I rather imagine that it is vanilla.

The errors in the recipe are caster sugar = powdered suger. It does not. It's much more like a finer grade of super fine sugar. Normally our super fine works just fine, but on really delicate dishes, like meringue, I pulse the sugar in the food processor. Powdered Sugar translates as Icing Sugar.

Digestive Biscuits are a bit closer to our graham crackers. The truth is that we have nothing here that equals them. They can be found at some large health food stores though as can the double cream. I just saw both at Whole Foods Market. If you don't have one of those near you (I think they're growing around the country) then you might try a large health food store that carries milk products.
