Recipe(tried): Julie C's DUTCH APPLE PUDDING

Desserts - Puddings, Gelatin

I am lucky to have Julie C. e-mailed me this terrific recipe! Since I can't have that chocolate pound cake of Nan's I made this for myself (he he he...) It is YUMMY! I don't think she posted it here, did she? (I did a content search but couldn't find it...) Therefore, I am posting Julie's recipe here to share with you all. I BELIEVE she won't mind! Thanks Julie!!!
======================================
Julie C's DUTCH APPLE PUDDING
*********************************
cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
1 egg
teaspoon nutmeg
2 small cups of cake flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
teaspoon salt
6 apples - peeled, core removed and quartered ( She used granny smiths and so did I!)
Cream the butter, and add the sugar, beaten egg and milk. Sift the flour,
salt and baking powder and add to the liquid. Mix into soft dough. Spread
the mixture into a shallow oven dish. Press the apple pieces into the dough.
Sprinkle with three tablespoons of sugar and grated nutmeg over the top. In
a pre-heated oven bake at 160 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes (depending on the
size and depth of your dish). Test with a knife - if it comes out clean your
apple pud is ready for serving.

It goes well with ice cream, custard or fresh cream
