Recipe: Festive Fudge and Five Minute Fudge

FESTIVE FUDGE

2 cups sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
12 regular marshmallows
1/2 cup butter or margarine
Few grains salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix in a heavy 2 quart saucepan the sugar, milk, marshmallows, butter and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat to a boil (mixture will be bubbling all over the top). Boil and stir 5 minutes more. Take off heat.

Add chocolate chips and stir until completely melted.

Stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread in a buttered 8-inch square pan. Let cool. Cut into 30 pieces.


FIVE MINUTE FUDGE

2/3 cup Carnation Evaporated milk
2 tbsp. butter
1 2/3 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup nuts

Combine evaporated milk, butter, sugar, and salt in saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Bring to a full boil. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Add marshmallows, chocolate chips, vanilla, and nuts. Stir vigorously for 1 minute (until marshmallows melt and blend). Pour into 8 inch square buttered pan. Cool. Cut in squares.
