Recipe: Cheese Balls (using Velveeta) - 3 recipes for Kay

VELVEETA CHEESE BALLS (Repost)

2 pkg (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 pound Velveeta cheese, softened
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
TO SERVE:
finely chopped pecans (for garnish)
crackers

Let cheeses soften or put in microwave (on defrost) until softened.

Blend cheeses, onion powder and garlic powder together with an electric mixer until smooth. Chill in refrigerator until workable, about an hour or so.

TO SERVE:
Divide into balls. Roll in finely chopped pecans. Serve with assorted crackers.


CHRISTMAS CHEESE BALLS

1 1/2 package (8 oz. size) cream cheese, softened
6 ounces blue cheese
6 ounces Cheez Whiz
4 ounces Velveeta, grated
1 jar Old English Kraft Cheese, optional
2 tablespoons grated onion
1/8 teaspoon MSG (optional)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup ground pecans, divided use
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped, divided use (optional)

Combine cheeses with onion, Worcestershire, and MSG. Beat until well blended. Stir in half the pecans and half the parsley.

Shape in a ball or several small balls for gift giving. Wrap in plastic wrap, then in foil; refrigerate overnight.

TO SERVE:
One hour before serving, roll in remaining pecans and parsley. If freezing, omit parsley rolling. Freezes well.

HOLIDAY CHEESE BALLS

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, softened
4 ounces Velveeta cheese, softened
8 ounces Philadelphia Cream cheese, softened
4 ounces port wine cheese, softened
1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups Cracklin' Oat Bran
pretzels and crackers (to serve)

Mix all cheeses, onions, and Worcestershire sauce together thoroughly by using hands and squeezing through fingers. Form into 3 equal balls or logs.

Crush approximately 2 cups of Cracklin' Oat Bran cereal by placing in large plastic ziploc bag, close, and use a rolling pin to crush to desired texture.

In a large bowl, gently roll balls or logs in Craklin' Oat Bran cereal.

Chill and serve with pretzels and crackers.

Makes 3 (6 oz. each) cheese balls or logs
