Recipe: Assorted Jumble Cookie Recipes

SUGAR JUMBLES COOKIES

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Then add 2 cups of cut up nuts (Brazil, pecans or walnuts). Then drop rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until delicately brown. Cookies will still be soft. Cool slightly and remove with spatula.

JUBILEE JUMBLE COOKIES

1/2 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. undiluted evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. chopped walnuts, coconut, dates, raisins or chocolate chips
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Mix shortening, sugars and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add flour, soda and salt. Add nuts. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Frost while cookies are warm with the following: Heat 2 tablespoons butter until golden brown. Beat in 2 cups sifted powdered sugar and 1/4 cup diluted evaporated milk.
