I decided to experiment and found no difference in baking in a silicone tube pan and a metal pan. I was able to cool the cake by turning it upside down on bottle. In order to remove it from the pan I had to loosen the sides. So, unless I had exceptional good luck the silicone pan works. Thanks for the advice and for keeping this site up and running. I find it very useful.
