Recipe: Blueberry Crumb Pie
Misc. Hi Mrs. Food;
I have not tried this, I found it on the net. It won 2nd place in a contest. Hope this is what you are looking for.
Blueberry Crumb Pie
Make your favorite pie crust or purchase a 9-inch deep dish pie shell. Fill with:
4 cups blueberries (fresh are best, can be frozen or canned)
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Wash berries gently; drain well; place in large bowl. Sprinkle with sugar, flour, salt, lemon rind, cloves, and cinnamon. Toss to mix. Place in pie crust.
Crumb crust topping:
1/2 cup hazelnuts or almonds, chopped fine
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 - 1/2 cup chilled oleo or butter, cut into small pieces
In a large bowl, mix together the nuts, flour and sugar. Using a pastry blender, or two knives, cut the butter into the flour mixture until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle the berries evenly with the crumb crust topping. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, then 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
