Recipe(tried): Cheesy Football (Cheese Ball)
Appetizers and SnacksThis football can be made into any holiday shape you wish. I hope this helps you. Enjoy!!
CHEESY FOOTBALL (BALL)
2 pkg. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
1 pkg. (8 oz.) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup salad dressing or mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 pkg. (3 oz.) real bacon bits*
Pimientos or roasted red pepper strips (optional)
Crackers
Beat cheeses and dressing in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
Add onions and black pepper; mix well. Cover. Refrigerate several hours or until chilled.
Place on serving plate; form into football or ball shape. Sprinkle evenly with bacon bits. Add pimento strips for "lacing" or to make the ball look like an ornament. Serve with the crackers.
*You can also substitute pecans, chopped toasted walnuts, slivered almonds or finely chopped fresh parsley for the bacon bits.
