Recipe(tried): Chocolate Raspberry Sauce (used as a glaze for cake) - Thank You: To Linda Lou
Desserts - Fillings, FrostingsHi Linda Lou, I made the recipe you posted for Chocolate Raspberry Sauce - the one with Sure Jel. I made it last year and have used it several ways.
Last night I came up with a new way to use it. I had to make a Chocolate sheet cake for Pot-luck at work. The cake was almost cool when I spotted one of the 4oz jars of sauce. I heated it up, strained out some of the seeds and coated the cake with a thin layer. Then this morning I frosted it.
The C-R sauce acted like a glaze, The frosting went on so smooth, no crumbs to deal with and at 5A.M. thats a very good thing.
The cake was a hit with the 26 guys and 1 other woman I work with. They wanted to know what was in the frosting. Could not guess what I did. I used a box chocolate cake mix and a container of chocolate frosting. Thank you for the compliments I received using that great sauce!!
