WHIPPED CREAM LIKE FROSTING
Cook 1 cup milk and 2 tablespoons cornstarch together over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Let cool.
With mixer, beat together 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/3 cup vegetable shortening, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract.
I've never had Sam's cake, but this is my favorite frosting
