COOKIE DOUGH BROWNIES
Source: WKTI 94.5 FM; HotDish correspondent Erin Gould
FOR THE BROWNIE LAYER:
Hershey's Triple Chocolate Chunk Brownie Mix (I buy them in bulk at Sam's Club)
Ingredients for the mix:
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
FOR THE COOKIE DOUGH LAYER:
(cookie dough does not include eggs)
1/2 cup butter, softened until almost melted
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
TO PREPARE THE BROWNIES:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease a 8x8-inch Corning ware pan (I find corning ware works better then metal and glass for keeping the brownies soft and chewy.)
Mix the Hershey's brownies according to instructions on the box.
Bake the brownies for 45 minutes at 300 degrees F. Let the brownies cool completely before you spread the cookie dough on.
TO PREPARE THE COOKIE DOUGH:
Mix the softened butter and sugars together. Add in the milk and vanilla. Gradually add the flour to the mixture. Mix in chocolate chips with a spatula. Drop the dough onto the brownies in spoonfuls and then spread the cookie dough with the spatula.
Store the brownies in the refrigerator to keep chewy and moist.
