Cookies In A jar
In the following recipes use only 1 quart wide mouth canning jars.Also use only Butter or Margarine DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE it will not work in the recipe.Be sure to line your cookie sheets with parchment paper wich you can find at a baking supply store,DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER .of course you can use cooking spray or lightly grease cookie sheets with crisco, These make wonderful gifts to give any time of year and also for wedding favors, hostess gifts, baby showers or take to a cookie exchange and make sure to bake some up so people know what they taste like too.....Store in a cool dry place away from a heat source so condensation and clumping does not occur. Chocolate Covered Raisin Cookie mix in a Jar
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 cup chocolate covered raisins
1/2 cup milk chcolate chip morsels
1 3/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp.baking powder and 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Layer ingredients in order given in a quart size '' wide mouth '' canning jar.
press each layer firmly in place making sure you really pack it down before
you add the flour mixture, it will be a tight fit but it will work.

Attatch these instructions to the jar:
Chocolate covered Raisin Cookies
1.} Empty cookie mix into large mixing bowl.Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2.} Add:
1 stick butter or margarine, softened at room temp.DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp.vanilla
3.} Mix until completly blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands.
4.} Shape into walnut sized balls. Place 2'' apart on a parchment lined cookie sheet. DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER
5.} Bake at 375deg. F. for 13 to 15 minutes until tops are very lightly browned. cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling. Yeld: 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
Oatmeal Raisin Spice cookies:
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup raisins
2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup flour mixed with 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart ''wide mouth'' canning jar. It will be a tight fit, make sure you firmly pack down each layer in place before adding the flour mixture.
instructions to attatch to jar:
1.} Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2.} Add:

5.} Bake at 350deg. F for 11 to 13 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. remove cookies to baking racks to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies...

M and M's Cookie Mix In A Jar:
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups M and M's candies { Use the pretty christmas colored M and M's}
2 cups flour mixed with 1/2 tsp. baking soda, and 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Layer ingredients in jar in order given in a 1 quart ''wide mouth'' canning jar. It will be a tight fit when you add the flour mixture so be sure to pack everything down firmly.
Instructions to attatch to jar:
1.} Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2.} Add:
1 stick margarine or butter softened at room temp.DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3.} Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands.
4.} Shape into balls the size of walnuts and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet 2'' inches apart.DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER.
5.} Bake at 375deg. F. for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are slightly browned. Cool on cookie sheet for about 5 minutes then remove to wire racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
Brownie mix in a Jar:
2 1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup cocoa powder { be sure to wipe out inside of jar with a dry paper towel after adding the cocoa powder}
2/4 cup chopped pecans
1 1/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt
Layer ingredients in a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar. press each layer firmly in place before adding the flour mixture.
Instructions to attatch to jar:
1.} Empty jar of brownie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2.} Add:
1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine melted, DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE
4 eggs, slightly beaten
3.} Mix until completely blended.
4.} Spread batter into a sprayed 9''x 13'' inch baking pan.
5.} Bake at 350deg. F. for 30 minutes. Cool completely in pan. Cut into 2 '' squares. Makes 2 dozen Brownies
Chunky Chocolate cookie mix in a jar:
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder{ clean inside of jar with dry paper towel after this layer}
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup jumbo chocolate chip morsels
1 3/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt
Layer ingredients in order in a 1 quart '' wide mout canning jar. Make sure you pack all down firmly before adding the flour mixture it will be a tight fit.

Intructions to attatch to jar:
1.} Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2.} Add:
1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3.] Mix until completely blended. The dough is sticky. you will need to finish mixing with your hands.
4.} Shape into walnut size balls and place 2''inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets, DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER
5.} Bake at 350% for 11 to 13 minutes . Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to racks to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Peanut butter cookie mix in a jar:
1 cup formly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups firmly packed powdered sugar { Clean inside of jar with a dry paper towel after this layer}
3/4 cup cocoa powder { Clean inside of jar with a dry paper towel after adding this layer}
1 1/2 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart ''wide mouth'' canning jar. Be sure to pack everything down firmly before adding the flour mixture, it will be a tight fit.
Instructions to attatch to Jar:

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3. Mix until completely blended. You will need to use your hands to finish mixing.
4. Shape into walnut sized balls and place 2''inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheets. DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER. press balls down with a fork.
5. Bake at 350deg. F. for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet then tranfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies...
