Recipe: Cowboy Cookies (similar but not exactly)

COWBOY COOKIES

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup Crisco vegetable shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 cup raisins, nuts, coconut, or dates (or combination)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Cream sugars, butter, shortening, eggs, and vanilla.

Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Add the remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes (or 350 10-12 minutes) or until golden brown.
