Recipe: Fudge Squares (Mazola Oil, 1951)

FUDGE SQUARES

2/3 cup sifted cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, well-beaten
1 cup sugar
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/4 cup Mazola Salad Oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup nut meats, coarsely chopped

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add sugar to well-beaten eggs and beat well. Add melted chocolate and Mazola Salad Oil. Add vanilla, sifted dry ingredients and nut meats; blend well.

Bake in greased (8-inch) square pan in moderate oven (350 degrees F) 35 minutes. Cut in squares while warm.
