Recipe: Cream of Spinach Soup from 1932

This recipe received honorable mention in a weekly recipe contest sponsored by the San Jose News newspaper in 1932.
4 cups milk
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup spinach puree
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Make white sauce of milk, flour and butter.
Add spinach puree, made by forcing freshly cooked or canned spinach through a sieve, season with salt and pepper, heat thoroughly and serve.
Serves 4 people.
