Recipe: Cush (toasted biscuits baked in milk, 1960-70's)

Breads - Assorted
CUSH

My mother actually had no recipe for cush, she just "cooked it." This is the way I remember it as a child (author unknown):

Slice leftover biscuits, butter and toast (in oven) to a nice brown. Place in an iron skillet, sprinkled with salt. Pepper also may be sprinkled over this. Pour hot milk over the biscuits and place skillet in oven so biscuits will become soaked with milk and butter. The brown tops of the biscuits will rise to the top above the milk. It will be something like baked milk toast .
