Recipe(tried): Daddy's Snow Cream

Misc.

Sandi, My Daddy made the best snow cream, at least that's what we thought. Living in South Carolina, enough snow to make it without digging into dirt was (and is) rare. We lived on a small farm and had very little extras on hand.

Daddy used sugar and whole milk and, of course, the snow.

We usually had to get our snow off the car to make sure there was no dirt or leaves in it. Daddy also wouldn't use the first snow of the season, something about the atmosphere needing purified first. I never did understand what that meant, unless it meant it built up our anticipation for the second snow of the year. In the past few years, we haven't had that second snow and sometimes not the first.

Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories of my Dad!
