Recipe(tried): Delicious Turkey Meatloaf Dinner
MenusA bargain price on fresh ground turkey at my local supermarket this week inspired tonight's dinner. The loaf turned out very moist and flavorful, DH and I really enjoyed it.
With it I served plain brown rice, just with a bit of butter and some pepper. A side of steamed petite green peas made for a lovely, light dinner. We finished our meal with a warm Zucchini Banana-Nut Muffin (rec. previously posted).
Enjoy! Cali
DELICIOUS TURKEY MEATLOAF
1 large egg
1/2 cup evaporated 2% milk
2 slices bread
1 Tbsp. dry minced onion
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. ground sage
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground turkey
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl whisk together the egg and evaporated milk. Crumble bread into milk mixture and stir to combine. Stir in dry onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, sage, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Crumble ground turkey over moist bread mixture and stir together lightly, but thoroughly, until completely mixed. Turn into prepared pan and cover tightly with foil.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes. Remove foil and return loaf to oven and bake another 35 minutes. Test with meat thermometer to insure loaf is done in center. Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before slicing.
