Recipe(tried): Ducks Blood Soup (Strybl)

HI Dave,

This is a recipe that gubba (grandma) uses when she makes the soup, also called "Chocolate Soup". She brought it from Poland when she came here a few years ago. I don't like it, but it's a tradition at Easter and Christmas with my Polish family. Also have mock Duck Blood Soup recipe.

Strybl

fresh blood from duck
1/4 c. vinegar
Mix these well and refrigerate

In pot, combine wings, neck, heart and gizzards in 8 c. cold water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.

Add:
cloves
1 bay leaf

Strain and mix liquid with duck blood.

Add:
pinch of salt and pepper
1/2 c. prune juice

Stir well and simmer for 1 hr. Can eat alone or serve over noodles, potatoes, or dumplings.
