Recipe: Everyday Meatloaf (Better Homes and Gardens, 1980's)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
EVERYDAY MEATLOAF

2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup catsup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard

In bowl combine eggs and milk. Stir in bread crumbs, onion, parsley, salt, sage and pepper. Add ground beef; mix well. Shape meat mixture into desired shape.

Bake meat loaf uncovered in a 350 degree F oven for 50 minutes or until done. Spoon off excess fat.

Combine catsup, brown sugar, and dry mustard. Spread over meat loaf. Return to oven for about 10 minutes more.

Makes 6 servings
