I often make beef short ribs in the crock pot. I roll the meat in seasoned flour and brown in a little oil. Put in the crock pot on top of the desired veges. Deglaze the pan with a little beef stock and pour over the short ribs and veges. Sorry I can't be more specific on amounts but I've done it so many times I don't follow a recipe. I usually cook on high about 3-4 hours.
