Recipe: How to Freeze Fresh Pineapple and Tips for Retaining Flavor

Preserving - Fruit
Hi Cali!

Here is some info about freezing pineapple for you:

"We do not recommend freezing fresh pineapple because it tends to lose some of its flavor. If you must freeze the pineapple for storage purposes, it can be cut and stored in an airtight plastic bag or container in its juice or syrup for up to 3 months." - Dole

Its a good tip to store the pineapple in its juice. I haven't frozen pineapple, but I wonder if pureeing some of the pineapple and adding it to the juice, or using purchased pineapple juice, or a stronger juice made using frozen concentrated pineapple juice for the storage liquid will help retain the flavor better or if that will lose some of its flavor too.

I hope that's a help and we'd love to hear from anyone with some tips to share.
