Recipe(tried): How to Rehydrate and Saute Dried Mushrooms

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
Hi Julie,

You will need to rehydrate the dried mushrooms in hot tap water. Place as much of them as you want in a measuring cup and add very hot tap water. Let them steep for half an hour. Remove them to a cutting board with a fork (since they sometimes have sand in them.)Save the mushroom water. Chop them as you wish and saute them in some butter.

I did this just yesterday, adding some dried to a small amount of fresh mushrooms. I finished the saute by adding a small amount of the saved liquid and some good Brandy. They were delicious and went well with quick-seared Lamb Chops and wilted Spinach.

Hope this works for you.
Merry Christmas.
