Jane, I spent weeks trying to make crisp cookies. I was getting really mad at the outcome. Soft and sticking together. Many ladies here at TKL helped me, so I will pass this recipe on to you. I refuse to try any other as these are perfect. Not only that but the dog next door was getting fat from all my mistakes. Ha
Sugar Cookies
350 8-10 minutes
4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups butter(unsalted)
Cream eggs, sugar, butter, milk and vanilla together. Add dry ingredients. Mix well and drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 min. or till edges are light brown. Leave these on the cookie sheet about 3-4 minutes, then remove. You can also roll these in balls and smash with a glass dipped in sugar for a nicer looking cookie. I also have added chopped pecans or walnuts.
My friends love these with a cup of coffee. Hopefully you will too. I made tons for Christmas, and have none left. Guess I'll get busy too. Enjoy and let me know how you do. Bonnie, Springfield, Ohio
