Recipe: Jello shots - repost from 2003

Our dear Gladys posted this for us in July of 2003:

Amaretto Sour Jello Shots

2 (3.00 ounces) boxes lime Jell-O gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup amaretto
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Make jello according to package directions. Let mixture cool some before adding the alcohol. Pour jello into 2 oz souffle cups, or shot glasses. Chill until firm. Then you down them like shots.

Lemon Drop Jello Shots

2 cups boiling water
1 cup chilled vodka

Make jello with the boiling water and stir to dissolve. Let mixture cool some before putting in the alcohol. Chill until firm. Down them like shots.

Mojito Jello Shots

Basic Mojito
6 sprigs fresh mint
4teaspoons sugar
6tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice, fresh
3ounces light rum
1cup water (Boiling)
2 packages lime Jell-O gelatin

Mixing instructions for Basic Mojito If not using store bought:. In a cocktail shaker, crush the mint to release the oil. Add the rum, sugar and lemon juice and shake thoroughly. Mix with the water, strain and mix in jello till well dissolved, pour in 2 oz shot glasses 3/4 the way up and refrigerate till set.

Jello Shots Generic Recipe

1 package, any flavor Jello
add 1 cup boiling water & stir to dissolve
allow to cool to room temperature
add 1 cup Vodka (well chilled in Freezer)
pour into 2oz plastic souffle cups

Goombay Smash Pineapple Jello & Coconut Rum
Kamikaze Lime Jello with Triple Sec & Vodka
Margarita Lime Jello & Tequila
Screwdriver Orange Jello & Vodka

Jello Shots by Color:

Red - Cherry Lifesaver:
2 packs Cherry Jello
3/4 cup Cherry Brandy
1/4 cup Banana Liqueur
1 cup Sweet & Sour mix

Orange - Orange Crush:
2 packs Orange Jello
1 cup Absolut Vodka
1/2 cup Cointreau
3/8 cup Orange Juice
1/8 cup 7-Up

Yellow - Yellow Bird:
2 packs Pineapple Jello
1/2 cup Rum
1/2 cup Cointreau
1/2 cup Liquore Galliano
1/2 cup Pineapple Juice

Green - Melon Ball:
2 packs Pineapple Jello
2/3 cup Midori Melon Liqueur
1/3 cup Finlandia
1 cup Pineapple Juice

Blue - Blue Hawaiian:
2 packs Pineapple -OR- Berry Blue Jello
1 & 1/4 cup Malibu Rum
1/4 cup Blue Curacao
1/4 cup Pineapple Juice
1/4 cup Orange Juice

Indigo - Zimbabwe:
2 packs Orange -OR- Cranberry -OR- Pineapple Jello
1 cup Absolut Kurant
1/4 cup Ornage Juice
1/4 cup Pineapple Juice
1/4 cup Cranberry Juice
1/4 cup Grapefruit Juice

Violet - Purple Hooter:
2 packs Cranberry Jello
1/2 cup Chambord
1 cup Absolut Vodka
1/2 cup Cranberry Juice
