Recipe(tried): Kids lunch ideas

Misc.
crackers as an alternative to bread .. especially homemade so
they're low-fat. If you make bread dough (a simple food processor
way is in the archives .. I do it all the time), crackers are a
bit more time consuming, but rolling the dough and cutting it can
be fun (get a mini cookie cutter set for $3. - Wilton) and the
kids can help. They can make shapes (out of which they can contruct
things .. or animals .. there are a few such sets by Wilton) and
I believe most kids are bound to like something more if they've
helped make it. There are SOOOO many cracker recipes at TKL .. do
a search and you'll be amazed. With regular bread dough, you can
also make pita bread cut in shapes with cookie cutters, knife
or even a pizza cutter .. may be fun for them if they're young.
