BROCCOLI-CHEESE PIE
FOR THE CRUST:
6 cups water
1 tbsp. salt
3 oz. uncooked macaroni rings (about 3/4 cup)
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp. snipped chives
FOR THE FILLING:
1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 egg white
1 cup creamed cottage cheese
1 tbsp. snipped chives
1 tsp. salt
Paprika
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Heat water and 1 teaspoon salt to boiling, stir in macaroni. Boil until tender, 5 to 8 minutes. Drain, rinse in cold water.
Beat egg yolk, stir in macaroni and 1 tablespoon chives. Press mixture against bottom and side of greased 9 inch pie plate with back of spoon.
Bake 10 minutes; remove from oven and cool 10 minutes.
Increase oven temperature to 425 degrees F. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over crust.
Prepare broccoli as directed on package, using 1/2 teaspoon salt, drain. Arrange broccoli on cheese.
Beat eggs, egg white, cottage cheese, 1 tablespoon chives and 1 teaspoon salt; pour over broccoli, sprinkle with paprika.
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 300 degrees F and bake about 30 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
Makes 6 servings

I checked my set of Great American Recipe cards (which is incomplete) and couldn't find the recipe there. I did find this recipe that fits your very good description on an old recipe CD that doesn't give credits with the recipes - I'm hoping this is it!
