Recipe(tried): Kid's Snack Ideas, No-Bake Bars (using cereal)

Appetizers and Snacks
My kids still enjoy popcorn, graham crackers, and pretzels
for snacks, sometimes even a peanut butter sandwich.

Oh! And a new favorite of son, his wrestling Coaches, and the team is:

No-Bake Bars

4 C. Cheerios
2 C. Rice Krispies
2 C. dry roasted peanuts
2 C. M & M's
1 C. light corn syrup
1 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a large bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients, set aside.

In a saucepan, bring corn syrup and sugar to a boil, stirring frequently.

Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture and toss to coat evenly.

Spread into a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Cool. Cut into 3x3-inch bars. Yield: 15 bars.

My friend used a 12x17-inch jelly roll pan and got about 32 bars.

I used a 9x13 pan, and made a couple of batches for the team.

*****
A favorite for the girls tennis team is:

Golden Graham Cereal Bars

I used the Rice Krispie Bar recipe, but used Gold Graham cereal instead of RK, and also added some chocolate chips after stirring in the cereal.

Sure is cheaper to make your own than buy the box of them.

*****

My kids also enjoy banana bread, pumpkin bread, and muffins-when it's not too hot to bake them.
