Kielbasa, Cabbage and Potatoes (crock pot)
rec.food.cooking/Capn'Rusty
Here is a favorite of mine that your son might enjoy.
1 pkg. smoked Kielbasa sausage ( cut in slices)
1 med. head green cabbage
1 lrg. onion sliced in 1-inch pieces
4-5 med white potatoes-cubed
11/2 cups hot beef broth/bullion
5 strips of diced bacon
layer cabbage then sausage, potatoes, onions, bacon and repeat til you reach the top of crock pot. Season with salt, pepper and moderate sprinkeling of caraway seeds. Pour hot broth over the top the cook on low setting . I will usually start it in the am before leavng for work and it will beready to eat when I get home. Aside from a unbeleivably wonderful aroma when you walk through the door, it tastes awsome too! Serve with buttered
Italian or french bread. I also like to put a dash of white pepper sauce on the cassarole, gives it a little tangy bite. Inexpensive to make and you have a complete meal.
