Side Dishes - Rice, GrainsKOBE SHRIMP SAUCE AND KOBE STYLE FRIED RICE
"I was given this recipe for Kobe's Shrimp Sauce and Kobe's Fried Rice a few years ago when I lived in North Carolina. I think it tastes almost exactly like what you get at the restaurant. It's so good! Here are the recipes:"
KOBE-STYLE SHRIMP SAUCE
1/2 quart Dukes Mayonnaise (can use "light")
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/16 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
6 1/2 ounces water
dash of salt
1 1/2 tablespoons ketchup (I use Heinz)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
6 teaspoons sugar
Add ingredients in order given to food processor or blender. Process until smooth. Stores in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
KOBE STYLE FRIED RICE
2 cups cooked rice, cooled
1/4 cup frozen peas
1/4 cup frozen corn
1/4 cup carrots, cut into pea sized pieces
1 small onion, finely chopped (or 2 green onions)
1-2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon butter
Cook peas, corn, and carrots in microwave for 2-3 minutes (until crisp tender) Cool and add to rice.
Place 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or non stick pan. Saute rice and vegetables and onion. Top with 1 tablespoon butter and cook until hot.
Add soy sauce. Serve immediately. Top with shrimp sauce.
