Dear Ralph, Here's a recipe that might fit the bill:
BARBECUED RIBS
4 lb pork ribs, cut in pieces
1 lemon, sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
2 cups water
1 cup catsup
1 tsp chili powder
2 dashes Tabasco sauce
Place ribs in shallow roasting pan, meaty side up. On each piece, place a slice of unpeeled lemon, a thin slice of onion.
Roast in very hot oven, 450 degrees F, for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
Pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs that have been roasted for 30 minutes. Continue baking in a moderate oven, 350 degrees F, about 2 hours, basting ribs with the sauce every 15 minutes.
Makes 4 servings
