Recipe: Paul Kirk's Basic Kansas City Barbecue Seasoning or All-Purpose Rub
Herbs and SpicesPAUL KIRK'S BASIC KANSAS CITY
BARBECUE SEASONING OR ALL-PURPOSE RUB
1 cup cane sugar
1/2 cup garlic salt
1/3 cup paprika
1/4 cup seasoned salt
3/4 cup BBQ Spice
2 tablespoons onion salt
2 tablespoons celery salt
2 tablespoons chili seasoning
2 tablespoons black pepper
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon lemon pepper
2 tablespoons dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Sift all ingredients together.
Store in an airtight container away from sunlight.
TO USE:
Sprinkle ribs, brisket, or chicken as if you were putting on heavy salt and pepper.
Makes 3 cups
