I always enjoy making and eating apple dumplings and apple bread. Here is the recipe for one of my family's favorites.

Apple Pizza Pie

1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup ice water
1/2 cup non dairy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed1
/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup sifted flour
1/4 teaspoons salt
1 tespoon ground cinnaomon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup butter
6 cups peeled apple slices, about 1/2 inch thick
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Mix 1 1/4 cup flour and 1 teaspoon salt; cut in shortening until crumbly. Add cheese, Sprinkle water over mixture gradually; shape into ball.k roll this pastry into 15 inch circle on floured surface; place on baking sheet and slightly turn up the edges. combine powdered non dairy cream, sugars, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 teasoon salt and spices. Sprinkle half of this over pastry. Cut butter into remaining half until crumbly. Arrange apple slices, overlapping them in circles on crust. Sprinkle with lemon juice and remaining crumbs. Bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes ot until apples are tender. Serve warm or cold. Makes 12 servings.
