Recipe: Root Beer Stand Coney Sauce, Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce

Root Beer Stand Coney Sauce

1 Pound ground beef
1 Medium onoin, -- diced
2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
2 Tbsp. vinegar
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbps. water
1 Tsp. worcestershire sauce
1/4 Tsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
Ketchup as desired.

In a seasoned skillet, brown ground beef with onion over medium heat, breaking up with fork to crumble. Drain off fat. Add all other ingredients except the ketchup. Mix well then add enough ketuchp to keep the mixture loose as it cooks. Simmer, partially covered, adding more ketchup as
needed.

Makes enough for 8 Coney Dog

CONEY ISLAND HOT DOG SAUCE

2 lb. hamburger (brown & break up)
Add:
1 c. water
1 c. chopped fine onions
A little garlic powder
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
3 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
A little pepper

Simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Makes about 5 cups. Freezes well in small butter cups.

Heat hot dogs and rolls. Put coney sauce on hot dogs, then add chopped onions on top.
