Recipe(tried): Shirred Eggs

Breakfast and Brunch
This is not identical, but very, very good and easy to make for a group.

Cook 6 slices bacon until limp but not brown. Line 6 cupcake tins with the bacon to make a circle around the edges. Carefully break one egg into each and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a prehated 350 degree oven until eggs are completely done.

I would think substituting ham in the bottom of the pan instead of the bacon is similar to what you described. You might need to spray the cupcake tins in order to get the eggs out whole, though.
