Recipe: Sloppy Franks (Heinz, 1967)

Sandwiches
SLOPPY FRANKS

1 tablespoon shortening
1 pound frankfurters, cut into strips (1 3/4 x 1/4 x 1/4-inches)
2/3 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
l/ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup water
2 teaspoons Heinz Worcestershire Sauce
3/4 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
1/3 cup drained Heinz India Relish (optional)
10 frankfurter buns, toasted, buttered

Melt shortening in skillet; add frankfurters and next 4 ingredients; mix well. Stir in water and next 2 ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes or until desired consistency.

Stir in relish before serving. Serve approximately 1/3 cup mixture on each bun.

Makes 10 sandwiches
