ISO: Canned Hot Peppers in Pittsburgh

I grew up just outside of Pittsburgh and each time I go back, everyone breaks out the home canned hot peppers. I am looking for a receipe for this type of canned pepper, they are most always done in olive oil and I have eaten them all of my life like this. However, on this board, I have not found any recipes that sound like the one I am looking for and those that I have found warn against using oil at all.

Does anyone have the recipe for some good old mid-western canned hot peppers done in olive oil? I need to bring some of my home town down to Atlanta!
