ISO: Cavass (Polish Sweet Sour Soup)

I'm looking for a soup receipe my Mom used to make.
It's a polish soup called Cavass or Kavas (?) She made it with spare ribs boiled and it had sweet marjoram in it I think. It had a sweet sour taste and was clear but thickened. I long to make this for my family. She also made potato dumplings to put into the soup.
