ISO: Finger foods for b-day party at a bar/tavern
Misc.ADVERTISEMENT
Hello! I'd like some suggestions for some finger foods for a birthday party for my boyfriend who is going to be 34 years old.
It's somewhat of a surprise (he knows we're going 'out' but doesn't know what to expect--he just thinks we're going bar-hopping and that's it).
We both play pool, so I've decided that instead of having the mess and the people at my house, I'd ask the owner of the bar where we play if I could have a little get-together there.
He said that was fine, and he's supplying the tables, napkins, condiments, silverware, etc. and I'm bringing the food.
Problem is: I don't know what to make.
Usually, they have a grill on the back deck that the bouncer cooks chicken or hamburgers on--but he's off that night & doesn't allow anyone else to use the grill.
Soooo, I thought I'd do ham BBQ or even make deli subs that I'd cut into slices...
Everyone likes my deviled eggs, so I'll make those...
But this is a bar. And it's going to be about 8 at night...so I don't want to make anything to elaborate or heavy, but I wanted some things that people could eat quick or get a few items on a plate.
There are no tables at this place, just the bar (which is very big & does seat a lot of people)...so I can't have anything too difficult to eat.
but I don't want to skimp either.
Nothing fancy at all...but a few things that everyone likes.
any suggestions??
Thanks so very much!!!
Amy
