ISO: Grencole Spinach and Potato Soup (Norwegian)

Misc.
My 73 year old husband talks often about a soup recipe that his Norwegian grandfather made when he was a child. He calls it "Grencole" but that must be an incorrect pronunciation or spelling. It is a spinach and potato soup that was simmered for many hours and was a staple in their home. I would love to make it for him. If you know of the correct spelling and/or a source, I would appreciate the information.
