ISO: help with island theme birthday party

Misc.
I'm new to entertaining! I'm very excited though! I am having a 1st birthday party and making it also an "island" theme party - - I would like to do something with a pineapple and maybe put fruit k-bobs in the pineapple -- does anybody have any suggestions on how to cut the pineapple so I can put the k-bobs of fruit in it? Any other suggestions or help for the menu would be great! We're just having light appetizers (wraps, dips, fruit & veggies), cake & punch. I think I will make a light colored punch and put frozen fruit in it. Thanks in advance!
