ISO: Horn and Hardart Molasses or Spice bar cookies

Misc.
As a child, I remmber buying these wonderful cookies at a Hornand Hardart store. These were 2" x 3" free form bar cookies aprox. 3/8" thick. They were spicy and contained raisins. The cookies were packed standing on edge, 10-14 to box and the top of the box was open (like A SHOE BOX)but covered in clear plastic so you could see the cookies line up on their sides. I would love to bake these, but I have never found a recipe for them. Does anyone remember them?...what they were called??? or possibly have a recipe from a New York NEWSpaper for them.

Any information regarding these would help in my search for a recipe.
