ISO: Ice Cream Cake, particular how to make

Does anyone reading this know how to make an Ice cream cake? You know the ones that are 1/2 cake 1/2 ice cream, not a roll? I'd like to do one this Wed. or Thurs. so clock is ticking. I can guess how but thought if there was anyone who had done it or seen it done I'd gather a tip or two!
