ISO: ISO a round large pastry filled w/cream
Misc. Many years ago I used to buy a wonderful pastry at a bakery in Minnesota. The business is now closed and I live in South Dakota. I have the impression that it was perhaps an ethnic pastry. I will describe it:
It was perhaps 9 or 10 inches in a round shape. The pastry was cake-like but not that dense. The pastry was cut in half horizontally then filled in the center with a cream center that was not just whipped cream but not as heavy as pudding. The top was dusted with powdered sugar. My family loved this and I would love to make it. Does someone know what I'm remembering and have a recipe? Thanks in advance!!!
